Gundog Retrieval

Run by the Gloucestershire Wildfowlers Association. 12.00noon until 4.00pm. Prize-giving at 4.00pm. £1 per entry.

Retrieval - near The Orangery Pond
Sponsors: Mark Hazel's Gunroom

Competitors will be required to send their dog to retrieve two dummies, leaping over bales of straw of varying heights. The dog must retrieve the dummies separately. Prizes will be awarded for the lowest timed retrieves. Prizes 1st-3rd.

There will be a separate event for Junior Handlers (aged 5 to 15 years) where both the handler and dog retrieve the dummies. 50p per entry. Rosettes 1st-3rd. Winner's trophy.

Open Class only. Prizes 1st-3rd. The dog and handler scramble is timed, with the dog off lead. Time faults will be added for any obstacles not negotiated correctly or if the dog does not retrieve the two dummies.

The winner will hold the Chloe Memorial Trophy presented by Caroline Ractliffe, Frampton Country Fair Secretary (1992-2000).

The competition is open to all breeds, shapes and sizes of gundog. The dog must retrieve two dummies separately, which includes a retrieve from water. The event is timed and the lowest timed retrieve wins.

Dog Agility

Near the Orangery Pond - from 12noon

Monty's Allsorts Dog Agility Training Club has been in existence for just over four years and is led by Malcolm Bassett, one of the pioneers of Dog Agility in Gloucestershire in the late 1970s. Malcolm and fellow instructors Steve Swankie and Julie Valery use their experience of the latest handling and training methods to cater for all dogs and handlers from beginners through to competition level, or just for fun. Dog Agility demonstrations, interspersed with public 'have-a-go' sessions, are run throughout the day.

 

 

 

 


Companion Dog Show

Near Frampton Court

Held under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. Dogs/Bitches not eligible for the Show are Puppies under 6 months, and Dogs/Bitches that have won any of the following awards: Challenge Certificate, Reserve Challenge Certificate or Junior Warrant. Proceeds to The Countryside Foundation for Education.
