The Living Working Countryside reflects the ethos of the whole of Frampton Country Fair, but it is specifically the area within the Fair which is dedicated to the diverse interests and skills, of countrymen.
In the Living Working Countryside you can see demonstrations as varied as hedge laying and the making of willow Severn salmon traps, known as putchers; to bee keeping, wood carving, charcoal burning, ferret racing and apple pressing to name but a few.
The Living Working Countryside also contains the Rural Skills ten where you can find indoor craftsmen such as the Master Saddler and fly tier.
Children love to visit the Native Breeds, and see some of wonderfully varied traditional livestock such as Gloucester Old Spot pigs and piglets and Gloucester Cattle.
This year we have a Countryside Ring where you can see demonstrations as diverse as gun handling and harness goats.
We are grateful to all the dedicated people who are here today to show us their skills and without whom many of these traditional crafts would disappear.

A great chance to see these shy and delightful animals. The rare and beautiful otter is slowly returning to our waterways. Ask about their lives and habitats, how you can get involved in helping these wonderful creatures maintain a footing in our countryside.
An opportunity for children to answer questions about the countryside and collect objects from around the Living Working Countryside area.

Mercia Ferret Welfare & Rescue is a Coventry-based organisation that was founded in 1999. Their policy is never to turn away abandoned, injured or unwanted ferrets. When they are taken into the Rescue Centre they are neutered/spayed to avoid unwanted kits. Each year over 200 ferrets are rescued by these dedicated enthusiasts.
Racing from 11.00am at half-hourly intervals. Final at 4.30pm
Mercia Ferret Welfare & Rescue will look after your ferret during the Fair providing you supply food and water. It is the duty of the owners to check their ferrets during their stay.
